Cookie Policy

Do you use Cookies?

Yes we do, just like most websites & blogs found on the web today.

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer by your browser. Cookies perform many different functions such as storing analytical information which allows us to see which pages are viewed the most. There are also Cookies from 3rd Party suppliers that we work with such as advertising companies. They use Cookies to understand what advertising you have seen or might like to see based on websites that you have visited, amongst other things.

Do Cookies store any data?

Yes, Cookies store data, but only information about how your browser interacts with websites. They do not store any personal information about who you are, only information about the browser or computer IP address that visited us. You can rest assured that we don't know who you are, your name, your age, your bank details or anything that is personal or sensitive to you. This is not the purpose of a Cookie.

If you sign up as a member of our site or sign up for our newsletter we will collect your name and email address neither of which we will pass on to any third parties. We don’t like spam and imagine you don’t either.

Site Adverts

Scottish Beauty Blog costs money to run both in terms of the domain, the server and my time. To pay for these, I have included adverts on the site but I hope these don't affect your viewing experience and hopefully you will find the products and services of interest to you. Please review Scottish Beauty Blog's advertising page for more details.

Affiliate links

Scottish Beauty Blog receives commission via affiliate links handled through a third party, I use Affiliate Window & LinkShare. I also use Skimlinks which converts links to affiliate links automatically whenever a merchant program is available.  I do not however write my posts or express my opinions with the purpose of generating these links. I will always give my honest opinion on a product or service and do not allow my editorial content to be influenced by advertisers or affiliate partnerships. In the interests of transparency, consider all links on Scottish Beauty Blog as affiliate regardless of whether they are or not.

Copyright & Image Usage

All images I take myself you are welcome to use under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License. What does that mean to you? If you want to reuse one of my images you can distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon my work, even commercially, as long as you credit me for the original creation. This is the most accommodating of licenses offered. I like accreditation in the form of "Image by Sarah Tolan, ScottishBeautyBlog.co.uk, used under its Creative Commons license" and if you are re-using an image on the web please link "ScottishBeautyBlog.co.uk" to the page you found the image on.

Not all images on ScottishBeautyBlog.co.uk are mine with many provided by Beauty PR's and Beauty professionals working in Scotland. To be sure you can reuse an image I post all of my own images to my Flickr account where you can download them from.
